Mindful Movement, in whatever form it takes, is my passion. I firmly believe in the power of movement to help people feel at home in their own bodies and more connected to their lives. I work to keep my classes accessible, creative and full of detail. Expect to work, rest and have space to explore the shapes and movements in equal measure. I find great joy in creating a version of any shape or movement appropriate for every body.
I’ve been teaching Yoga since 2005 and Pilates since 2017, but was a student of both methods for years before venturing down the path of teaching. I am still ever curious about movement modalities and feed my teaching by being a perpetual student.
I got my first Yoga certification at The Yoga Tree in San Francisco in 2005 with teachers Stephanie Snyder, Jamie Lindsay, Darrin Main and Jai Kumar. I studied Pre Natal Yoga with Jane Austin and Marisa Toriggino, and I continue to learn from many teachers. My favorite locals are Britt Forman and Kate Truka-Tartuk. I study Pilates on-going with Ruthie Wahlborg Scott in the lineage of Ellie Herman blending classical Pilates with a more contemporary approach. I hold a license from Incorporating Fitness, LLC allowing me to teach the Buff Bones ® Method – an osteoporosis safe workout method designed to enhance agility, fitness and bone strength. I am a Yoga Alliance registered E-RYT® 200 teacher of teachers. Presently I am working on a Personal Training and Health Coaching Certificate with ACE and on completing final bits leading to a comprehensive Pilates Certificate.
Outside the studio I ride my bike and hike on mountain trails, drink tea, love plants, books, heavy metal, bad jokes and my son.
